    Sn=A1+(n-1)d

    2n=A1+(n-1)d.........eqn1
    3n=A1+(2n-1)d.......eqn2
    Substract eqn1 from eqn2
    You get
    n=nd then d=1
    Therefore from eqn1
    2n=A1+n-1
    A1=n-1
    Hence for the sum ov 3n terms
    Sum =(n-1)+(3n-1)1
    Sum=4n
    Therefore the sum is 4n

    I want to share with you my fellow student about exponents concepts, all over us we know Any number power zero equal to 1 eg. x0 = 1 . so let prove the statement,

    (x4) / (x4 ) = x4-4 = x0

    Proof

    (x.x.x.x)/ (x.x.x.x)

     or

    ( x times x tmes x times x ) divide by (x times x times x times x)

    if we cancel the same value means x of numerator cancel with x of denominator

    results

    (1 times 1 times 1 times 1) divide (1 times 1 times 1 times 1)=1 divide by 1 = 1

    probability = number of events/ number of sample space. since number of events cannot exceed the number of sample space but can be equal, therefore probability is always less than or equal one.

    Inline with what digha has said, The probability is one when the number of expected event is equal to the number of sample space (Total events). On the other side zero probability occurs when non of the expected events can be found in the sample space

    nth term = G1(rn-1)
    then,
     sum of nth = G1(rn-1)/(r-1)

    data given:
    nth =488
    Sn =889
    so,

    488 = G1(rn-1) ----(1)
    889 = G1(rn-1)/(r-1) ------(2)

    dividing equation 2 by 1 we get'
         889/488 = (rn-1)/ (rn- rn-1)
    Now from here one variable is hidden we were supposed to be given,either nth term or common ratio.

    the formula for nth term is Gn = G1rn-1
      our nth term is 488, so 488 = G1rn-1
    the sum of gp is given by Sn = G1(rn - 1) / r - 1.............(i)
    the sum of 10 term is 889, so 889 = G1(r10 - 1)/ r - 1  ..........(ii)
    from (ii)
    889(r - 1) = G1(r10 - 1) ............(iii)
    now divide (iii) by (i)
    889(r - 1)/488 = G1(r10 - 1)/G1rn-1
    889(r - 1)/488 = r10 - 1/rn-1
    cross multiplication
    889(r - 1)(rn-1) =488( r10 - 1)
    889rn - 889rn-1 = 488r10 - 488
    889rn - 889rn-1 -488r10 = -488
    since we have two variables which are r and n within one equation, it becomes difficult to solve for r and n.

    number of sample space is 1 + 2 + 4 + 8 = 15.
    probability of selecting a yellow marble is = 8/15
    therefore probability of not selecting a yellow marble is 1 - 8/15 = 7/15
