Meiosis is a cell division that takes place in the sex cells while mitosis takes place in the somatic cells. Also, meiosis has the haploid number while mitosis has the diploid number.

The difference between mitosis is a process where by a cell divides to produce two daughter cells which are identical to the parent's cell. While meosis is the kind of vell division where the nucleus give the rise of four gametes.
